Abstract
The purposes of this study were to analyze the difference in the patients¡¯ satisfaction and the factors related to choose dental hospital, according to the image of dental hospital. For this purpose, one corporate hospital and one university hospital were selected. By self-administered questionnaire, data were collected from 695 randomly selected patients who attended the hospitals from October to December 2002. The obtaind results were as follow:
1. The corporate dental hospital had higher level of satisfaction to all items about reception desk, medical services, medical environment than the university dental hospital
2. There was the difference between corporate dental hospital and university dental hospital in factors related to choose dental hospital. In modern facilities, patients¡¯ preference was for the corporate dental hospital than the university dental hospital.
3. In easy accessibility, patients¡¯ preference was for the university dental hospital than the corporate dental hospital. There is no difference between the corporate and university dental hospital in reliability of medical service.
In conclusion, patients¡¯ satisfaction was higher in corporate dental hospital than university dental hospital. Each hospital had a difference in factors related to choose dental hospital. Marketing concept called customer satisfaction in corporate dental hospital was the reason that could give the higher satisfaction to patients than university dental hospital.
